Monument of the National Heroes and Martyrs, Hanoi

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the laying of the wreath and paid tribute to Vietnam’s martyrs at the Monument of the National Heroes and Martyrs on the second day of his official visit in Vietnam.

Members of his official delegation and senior government officials accompanied the President during the wreath-laying ceremony.

The Monument of the National Heroes and Martyrs or the Vietnam War Memorial is across the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in the Ba Dinh Square and is adjacent to the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.

The memorial, which was constructed in 1993, was built to commemorate the men and women who sacrificed themselves during the Second Indochina War.
