President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, together with his fellow leaders, graced the Welcoming Ceremony for the Leaders’ Roundtable sessions as the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China continues on its last day.

In a speech before the commencement of the roundtable discussions, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his objective of working together with his fellow leaders and involved parties to achieve a more advanced resource-oriented implementation of projects.

He said that this year’s forum is paving ways in opening the new space for global development that would mean the delivery of greater benefits to all citizens through economic growth, social progress, and environmental protection.

President Duterte, on the other hand, considers the forum as a chance to further improve international cooperation, which is a vital key in sustaining growth.

“This should be the new normal. And it is our interest to work together to make this a reality,” the Chief Executive said.

The Leaders’ Roundtable meeting focuses on three (3) thematic discussions and agenda. These include ‘Boosting Connectivity to Explore New Sources of Growth,’ ‘Strengthening Policy Synergy and Building Closer Partnership,’ and ‘Promoting Green and Sustainable Development to Implement the UN 2030 Agenda.’
