President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was accorded a welcome ceremony by the leaders of Myanmar led by President U Htin Kyaw at the Presidential Palace in the administrative capital of Nay Pyi Taw on the second day of his official visit.

The President’s trip comes at the heels of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Myanmar bilateral relations. Talks on improving trade and investment relations are also part of the agenda of the visit.

After the welcome ceremony, the President was ushered inside the palace for the signing of the guest book.

President Duterte was joined by his official delegation that included Agriculture (DA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Foreign Affairs (DFA) Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar, and National Security Adviser (NSA) Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr.
