“Isinusulong natin ang Food Stamp Program upang matiyak na hindi lamang busog ang mga benepisyaryo, kundi malusog, masigla, at malakas na magagampanan nila pang-araw-araw ang kanilang mga gawain,” expressed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. when he joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) – Caraga (Region XIII) Kick-off in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.
Conveying the Administration’s thrust to strengthen food security and address malnutrition that continues to affect Filipino families, the President called on all sectors for their continued collaboration to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the FSP.
President Marcos Jr. also reassured all international partners present during the program that the government will remain steadfast in creating more programs to alleviate the plight of the Filipino people. “With your support, I am certain that we can empower even more disadvantaged Filipinos to rise up and to make a different course for their future—a future where there is no hunger,” he added.
Spearheaded by the DSWD, the FSP realizes the goal to reduce the incidence of involuntary hunger experience by low-income households. It provides eligible Filipinos with access to monetary-based assistance in the form of an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which is loaded with food credits.
