President Rodrigo Roa Duterte condoled with the bereaved family of PO2 Alexis Laurente as he visited the wake of the police officer at St. Peter Chapels in Panacan, Davao City.

PO2 Laurente, a Special Action Force (SAF) commando, died in the war-torn city of Marawi on September 15, 2017. He was sent as part of the reinforcement in the four-month-old conflict of the government troops against the Maute group.

President Duterte took time to talk with the family of the late SAF commando and assured them that the government would support them, as well as promised an educational assistance to the son of the slayed officer.

Also, the Commander-in-Chief instructed that an Order of Lapu-Lapu (Rank of Kalasag) be accorded to the late PO2 Laurente.

The President visited the wake by dawn of September 23, 2017 after his attendance to the gathering of the Davao media in Matina Enclaves.
