President Rodrigo Roa Duterte condoled with the grieving families of the killed-in-police-operations (KIPO) officers PO3 Jeden Rabor and PO1 Rholly Benelayo during his wake visit at the Bansalan Municipal Hall in Davao del Sur.
There were other two slain officers, PO1 Joey Narvaza and PO1 Saro Mangotara, who were already laid to rest in accordance with Muslim tradition. Narvaza’s remains were transferred to Kidapawan City while Mangotara were laid to rest in Digos City. PO3 Allen Arnado, who was wounded in the same operation, was also visited by the President.
During the visit, the President conferred the Hero’s Medal to the killed and wounded officers and took time to talk with the families of the slain officers. The families received cash assistance and were promised payment of burial expenses plus scholarships to the children left by the officers.
The group was deployed to conduct a crime scene operation regarding a shooting incident in the said barangay when they were ambushed by some members of a lawless armed group in Barangay Sibayan, Bansalan, Davao del Sur on March 8, 2017.
