President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the two wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers, namely PFC Ronald G. Pamonag and CAA Eduardo P. Matambonoy, Jr., at the Camp Panacan Station Hospital, Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM) in Davao City.

PFC Pamonag was wounded in the Marawi City siege while CAA Matambonoy, Jr. had an encounter with the New People’s Army (NPA) in Tagum City.

During the visit, President Duterte allotted time to talk to the WIA soldiers and awarded them the Order of Lapu Lapu – Kampilan Medal, assisted by EASTMINCOM Commander Lt. Gen. Benjamin Madrigal. In addition, the President awarded a Wounded Personnel Medal to CAA Matambonoy, Jr.

The two wounded officers also received financial assistance, cellular phone units, and Glock certificates.

Thereafter, the President visited the non-battle casualties confined at the Heroes Ward One and Two in Camp Panacan Station Hospital.
