President Rodrigo Roa Duterte boosted the morale of the wounded soldiers and policemen as he personally checked their condition in a visit at the Universidad de Sta. Isabel – Health Services Department (USI-HSD) in Naga City, Camarines Sur.

The Commander-in-Chief conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to the injured personnel for their efforts in the line of duty that contributed to his campaign and the advocacy of his administration.

The police officers that received the medals included PO1 Daisy Alto, PO1 Ruby Buena, and PO1 Jonathan Perillo. They survived the ambush that targeted their convoy in Lupi, Camarines Sur.

Likewise, Cpl. Christopher Bactad, Cpl. Joven M. Llorera, Pvt. Johnrex Ferpas, and Pvt. Jesse Pausal who were injured in an encounter against communist rebels in Labo, Camarines Norte last October 14, 2018 were also awarded by President Duterte.

Aside from the medals, the injured personnel also received financial assistance, gun certificates, and cellular phones.
