July 26, 2018

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte checked the condition of the wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers confined at Camp Navarro General Hospital in Zamboanga City.

The Commander-in-Chief awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan medals to Staff Sergeant Krisnan Natividad, Sergeant Yahcob Sarian, Corporal Jolly Bert Balmore, Private First Class Richard Aquino, and Private Eugene Gonzales.

The WIA troops were part of the military operations that encountered the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) last July 11 and 19 in Patikul, Sulu.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan is awarded to officials and government personnel and private individuals who are seriously wounded or injured as a direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President.
