President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave comfort and spoke with several wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers at the Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Brgy. Bus-Bus, Jolo, Sulu.

Most of the WIA troops visited by the President are part of the 10IB Alpha Company that were ambushed in Brgy. Sandang, Patikul, Sulu by alleged ASG members on May 25, 2017.

PFC Alawi H. Julhari was the only casualty amongst government troops while 12 other soldiers were wounded.

The remains of PFC Julhari were taken before the President’s visit by his family to his hometown of Parang, Sulu for burial in Islamic rights.

The soldiers will be given financial and medical support by the Office of the President (OP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as gratitude for their service to their country.
