The day after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked different parts of Luzon, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. flew to the Province of Abra where he conducted an inspection of damages and paid a visit to the affected communities.

The Province is among the localities severely hit with reported series of aftershocks, fatalities and wounded in its wake.

Upon his arrival in Bangued, President Marcos Jr. evaluated the extent of destruction at the Abra Provincial Hospital. According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), a number of patients in the said hospital suffered injuries after the powerful quake damaged its facilities.

Thereafter, he presided over a situation briefing for the latest updates together with the Provincial Government of Abra and lead national government agencies.

At the end of his visit, the Chief Executive provided relief assistance and personally checked on the families and individuals displaced at the Bangued Plaza Evacuation Center.
