President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s common-law wife, Madame Cielito ‘Honeylet’ Avanceña, visited the National Museum of Cambodia as part of the spouses program during the World Economic Forum (WEF) on ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) 2017 held in the capital city of Phnom Penh.
The National Museum of Cambodia was constructed between 1917 and 1924, with its inauguration on 1920. It houses one of the world’s greatest collections of Khmer cultural material that includes sculpture, ceramics, and ethnographic objects from the pre-historic, pre-Angkorian, Angkorian, and post-Angkorian periods.
The museum also promotes awareness and understanding of Cambodia’s heritage, as well as educates and inspires its visitors.
