President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, together with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco, visited the residents affected by the San Miguel fire at St. Michael and the Archangels Church near the Malacañan Palace.

“Yung pagkain, sagot ho namin hanggang makaano kayo. We will ask the DSWD to provide food everyday habang naga-adjust kayo,” he said to them.

The President distributed PhP 5,000 financial assistance to every affected family and a box of relief goods with rice, canned goods, blanket, bed mats and bottled water.

At around 3 a.m. in the morning of August 16, 2017 (Wednesday), fire broke out in Barangay 645, Zone 67. It reached Task Force Bravo at around 5 am and affected hundreds of families.
