For the sixth time, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the war-torn Marawi City in Lanao del Sur to administer the inauguration of the Bahay Pag-asa at Barangay Bito Buadi Itowa.

The Bahay Pag-asa, a government project in partnership with the private sector, aims to provide immediate shelter and accommodation facility for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in a 1.2-hectare parcel of land in Marawi City. Five (5) housing units have been turned over to the following recipients: Sgt. Madki Kamsary, CAA Aninoden Acmad, CAA Misron Datumanong, CAA Amana Datumanong, and Mr. Abdulmalik Dimasarong.

The single-detached units comprising the housing project are made of bamboo, salawi, nipa, and wood with a measurement of four meters by four meters. These units have solar power systems and are made with communal kitchen, separate showers and toilet stalls for men and women, deep well, and a community center.

National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana accompanied the President in Marawi.
