President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited one of the eight branches of the famous Filipino fast food chain, Jollibee, on the last day of his working visit to Hong Kong. The President was accompanied by his daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, his grandson Stingray, and some government officials who are part of his delegation.
The Chief Executive personally ordered their food at the counter. While at the store, Special Assistant to the President Secretary Christopher Bong Go invited Filipino household service worker Alma Obille Pardillo to the Presidents table.
During their conversation, Pardillo narrated to President Duterte how she badly wants to go home to Legazpi City, Albay where her family lives to check the condition of her nine-year old son who is currently suffering from a serious lung ailment. Because of financial difficulties, Pardillo is unable to go home to take care of her son.
Likewise, the 44-year old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Hong Kong wishes to celebrate the graduation of her two children. One of them finished Banking and Finance last March, while the other one will be graduating with a degree in Accountancy this month.
Without hesitancy, President Duterte committed to shoulder Pardillos round trip flight tickets so she could go home to the Philippines.
