President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inspected the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Flagship – Destroyer ‘Chang Chun’ (DDG150) docked at Sasa Port in Davao City.

A total of three Chinese vessels were docked at Sasa Port — PLAN ships ‘Chang Chun’ (DDG 150), ‘Jin Zhou’ (FFG 532), and ‘Chan Hu’ (Supply Ship).

The goodwill visit also aimed to enhance military exchanges and mutual trust between China and the Philippines.

During the visit, the Chief Executive inspected the following stations of the vessel: 1st Station – Conference Room where a brief introduction of the PLAN Task Group (PTG) by Admiral Miao took place; 2nd Station – Foredeck (Missile and Main Gun); 3rd Station – Operations Room (Command and Control System); and the 4th station – the Bridge (Navigation System).

After the President’s inspection, he was invited to sign the ship’s guestbook and was given a wooden badge and a hat as a gift of honor.

The three vessels were docked at Sasa Port on April 30, 2017 and are scheduled to depart on May 2, 2017.
