President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on all concerned national government agencies to expedite delivery of assistance to severely hit areas brought by Severe Tropical Storm ‘Paeng’ (international name: Nalgae) in a virtual situation briefing.
“Our SOPs are okay, we follow our SOPs, we just keep doing what we can. Let’s not wait for the helicopters to fly, let’s not wait for the air assets kung hindi talaga maganda ang weather. Hanap tayo ng ibang paraan para mapadala natin yung mga pangangailangan,” the President said.
In a latest report released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), confirmed death toll has been reduced to 45 from 72 following verified reports from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) which reduced its number of deaths from 67 to 40; a substantial number of casualties were caused by landslides.
