Today’s segment of USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition highlights the vaccination of residents in Las Piñas City and the measures implemented by the local government to prevent the influx of vaccinees following reports of fake news on 5 August 2021 that resulted to overcrowding in vaccination sites across the City. The segment also features 92-year old Angela Gabriel who received her jab from the mobile vaccination team of Las Piñas. This mobile vaccination drive is an initiative of the City Government to inoculate vulnerable residents who are no longer capable of going to vaccination sites.

Derived from the Bisayan term ‘uswag’ which means progress, this special edition of the social media program aims to inform viewers about the ongoing mass immunization in different communities across the nation, the tireless efforts of healthcare workers and medical frontliners in battling the public health crisis, and interviews from inoculated Filipinos and medical experts on the benefits of getting the jab to further boost vaccine confidence amongst the people.
