Today’s segment of USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition highlights the vaccination rollout for approximately 3,700 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are bound for work abroad, including their immediate family members, during the two-week free vaccination program of the City Government of Davao.
The OFW Express Lane Vaccination Program ran for 10 days and was made possible through the joint efforts of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Marino Partylist, and different offices and government agencies, which culminated on a high note.
The vaccination express lane forms part of the Davao City Government’s efforts in addressing the OFWs’ concerns on the delay of their vaccination schedules. Employers of these OFWs require complete vaccination before they can report for work.
Derived from the Bisayan term ‘uswag’ which means progress, this special edition of the social media program aims to inform viewers about the ongoing mass immunization in different communities across the nation, the tireless efforts of healthcare workers and medical frontliners in battling the public health crisis, and interviews from inoculated Filipinos and medical experts on the benefits of getting the jab to further boost vaccine confidence amongst the people.
USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition is a flagship program of the Presidential Broadcast Staff – Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM).
