Today’s segment of USWAG, Pinas! Special Edition highlights the vaccination rollout against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) for children aged 5-11 in Davao City. The City is aiming to achieve 100 percent vaccination rate for its total population of 1.8 million by inoculating around 260,000 target children vaccinees.
Davao City also extended the Bayanihan Bakunahan 3 to secure and speed up the rollout of booster doses since it has already recorded a large number of fully vaccinated individuals.
Derived from the Bisayan term ‘uswag’ which means progress, this special edition of the social media program aims to inform viewers about the ongoing mass immunization in different communities across the nation, the tireless efforts of health care workers and medical frontliners in battling the public health crisis, and interviews from inoculated Filipinos and medical experts on the benefits of getting the jab to further boost vaccine confidence amongst the people.
