Consecrated on 9 March 2009, the pagoda stands at 325 feet high and contains an impressive array of religious edifices such as the four jade Buddha images in the cave and statues depicting the birth, enlightenment, first discourse and the attainment of nirvana of the Lord Buddha, to name a few. Ceremonies are also held in the pagoda like the conferment of religious titles on eminent monks, as well as a grand scale ceremony on the offering of alms to members of the Sangha which is usually attended by Myanmar’s Head of State.
