President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the First Family attended a thanksgiving mass for the 106th birth anniversary of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. at the Immaculate Conception Parish in the City of Batac, Ilocos Norte.
In his remarks, the President expressed his gratitude to his fellow Filipinos for remembering the life and legacy of his late father, emphasizing that the best way to honor the former President is to stay true to the passion of public service.
“Ang katangian ng kanyang serbisyo publiko, the quality of his public service is what was always true and always the center of this, is how we make the lives of our people better,” he said.
“And I think the best way to honor this memory is will be for all of us, whether or not we are in public life or in private life, for all of us to stay true to that passion, that commitment that he had to help the people,” President Marcos Jr. continued.
Last August, Malacañang issued Proclamation No. 327 declaring September 11 as a special non-working holiday in the Province of Ilocos Norte to mark the special occasion.
