President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with high-ranking officials of the Vatican and Philippine Catholic churches, will grace the National Thanksgiving Mass for San Pedro Calungsod, the second Filipino saint, on Friday, November 30. The live streaming of the event which will be held at the South Road Properties (SRP) in Cebu City will start at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon.

An estimate of one million Filipino pilgrims are expected to pay tribute and join in the celebration of San Pedro’s sainthood. The program at the templete and the arrival of carrozas will start at 2:30 in the afternoon, while San Pedro’s image will arrive at SRP at 4:30 pm. There will be song numbers by various local artists of Cebu and a Eucharistic Celebration before President Aquino gives his message, to be followed by a fireworks display. The mass will be officiated by His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal, D.D., Archbishop of Cebu, together with 50-60 Philippine Bishops as concelebrants. There will also be a singing of the Gozas, a dance drama on the life and martyrdom of San Pedro, Halad sa Probinsya sa Sugbu which will feature the Pasigarbo contingents from different municipalities and cities in the province of Cebu, and a youth concert at the templete.
