The Temple of Heaven was the original place where the emperors of the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty hold the Heaven Worship Ceremony.

First built in 1420, it is the largest representation masterpiece among China’s ancient sacrificial buildings. The architectural style shows the practices of the ancient Eastern civilization where the heaven is high and the earth is low, as well as their ancient thought that heaven is round and the earth is square.
