President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his utmost gratitude to the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 9th Infantry Division in Pili, Camarines Sur for being bearers of positive changes and peacemakers in Region V amidst matters of security issues in the area.

In his visit to Camp Elias Angeles, the President not only recognized the exemplary bravery and courage of the Armed Forces as ‘war fighters’ but also underscored the evolution of the military as ‘peacemakers’ especially in dealing with threats posed by terrorist groups.

“That is why your role as the Philippine military continues to be as war fighters but now there is the additional mission that we are asking of you to be peacemakers. That is the only way that we can move forward,” he conveyed.

The Commander-in-Chief further noted the success of the military in its encounters with the aforementioned groups, as the government continues to implement the whole-of-nation approach.

He vowed to execute all efforts to maintain the Armed Forces as a capable and well-prepared military.

“We, in the civilian government, are determined to make sure that when we ask you to do your duties, then you are fully prepared, are fully trained, and you are complete in the equipment that you need to fulfill that mission,” President Marcos Jr. expressed.
