President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assured the Philippine Air Force (PAF) that it has his full support as he met with the airmen at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium inside Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

The President expressed his commitment to the PAF’s modernization programs and said, “In the fullness of God’s time, you will get what you want and more.” He then announced the doubling of the PAF personnel’s salary.

When matters concerning the country’s foreign relations were raised, President Duterte explained that he is not cutting alliances with any nation but he does not also want to place the country in jeopardy.

“For example, China knows that we are really entitled…Huwag na tayong magbolahan. Nanalo tayo sa arbitral,” he explained, adding that he is not also anti-America and that he is not severing ties with the United States of America.

After his message, President Duterte received a Bluebird Jacket from the PAF as a memento, and joined the airmen with their approximately hundred dependents in a boodle fight-style dinner.
