The State Square is a small park in the middle of Central, bordered by Connaught Road and Des Voeux Road, and split into two sections by Chater Road. It once housed several statues of the British royalty, including Queen Victoria.

There is also a war memorial called the Cenotaph, a stone monument that was built in 1923 to commemorate the dead in the two world wars.

On Sundays, the Statue Square and Chater Road are just one of the popular spots for many Filipino household workers to gather on their day off and relax. Numerous Filipino community organizations set up space as well for different activities.
