President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graced the State Welcoming Ceremony hosted by His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Mustafa’in Billah, Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI (16th King) of Malaysia, and Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, at The King’s Official Residence in Istana Negara (National Palace) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A ceremonial tree planting also formed part of the event wherein the President and His Majesty King Al-Sultan Abdullah took part in planting a type of evergreen tree with the scientific name, ‘gnetum gnemon’, to mark the Filipino leader’s momentous visit to Malaysia.
Inside the Palace, the Chief Executive signed the guest book and formally introduced the members of his delegation comprised of the following:

President Marcos Jr. is embarking on his first State Visit to Malaysia upon the invitation of His Majesty King Al-Sultan Abdullah. This overseas trip, as reiterated in his second State of the Nation Address (SONA), is a realization of the Administration’s commitment to promote the interests of the country, participate in peace-building efforts, and for mutually beneficial purposes in fostering relations with the country’s neighbors in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the rest of the world.
