State Visit of President Benigno S. Aquino III to the
Commonwealth of Australia
October 23-26, 2012
After a three-day visit to New Zealand, President Benigno S. Aquino III will fly to the Commonwealth of Australia for a State Visit which will mark another milestone to the growing diplomatic relations between Australia and the Philippines.
President Aquino will arrive on October 23 at the Defense Establishment Fairbairn in Canberra. The following day, he will be given a ceremonial welcome at the Government House which will be led by Her Excellency Quentin Bryce AC CVO, Governor-General of Australia, and will meet with Prime Minister Julia Gillard MP and other high-ranking officials of the Australian government at the Parliament House.
In Sydney, the President will attend a series of courtesy calls and meetings. He will also speak at the Philippine-Australia Business Forum, and at the Asia Society Australia and the Australia Philippine Business Council Forum-CEO Roundtable.
On the last day of his visit, President Aquino will lead the unveiling of the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal at Campbelltown City and meet with the Filipino community.
