State Visit of President Benigno S. Aquino III
to Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand 

22-24 October 2012

President Benigno S. Aquino III will fly to the cities of Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand via a Philippine Airlines chartered flight to spend a three-day State Visit at the Kiwi nation.

In Auckland, the President will participate in a series of business meetings and attend a memorandum of agreement signing after a night of gathering with the Filipino community who are residing and working in New Zealand.

President Aquino will be formally welcomed in Wellington City through a traditional ceremony of New Zealanders called Haka Pōwri or Dance of Welcome. A string of meetings with Governor General Jerry Mateparae, Prime Minister John Key and Labour Party Leader David Shearer will also be attended by the Chief Executive. Governor General Mateparae and his spouse will host a State Dinner in honor of President Aquino.

After a day of hectic schedule, the President will fly to Canberra and Sydney, Australia for the second part of his State Visit in the Australasia region.

The State Visit in New Zealand aims to strengthen the growing and diverse bilateral relationship between the two countries. Both nations are mutual partners in trade, business investment and development cooperation.
