President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. hosted a state banquet in honor of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañan Palace.

The President’s toast remarks highlighted the steadfast support and unwavering friendship between the Philippines and Japan, fostering the realm of freedom, prosperity, and security together in the Indo-Pacific region.

“Since the normalization of our diplomatic relations 67 years ago, our relations have been cultivated by common principles of democracy, respect for basic human rights and the rule of law,” he expressed.

The Chief Executive also recalled the ambition for a robust and future-oriented Strategic Partnership, a long-held aspiration for the enduring friendship between two great maritime nations and the democracies of the Indo-Pacific region.

“To the good health of Your Excellency and Madame Kishida, to the prosperity and well-being of the Japanese nation, and the enduring springtime of our friendship, Mabuhay and Kampai!,” President Marcos Jr. concluded his remarks.
