President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened selected Regional Line Agency Directors of Western Visayas in a situation briefing to address the region’s most pressing concerns on trade, agriculture, employment and energy.

Among the topics discussed were measures to mitigate the spread of African Swine Flu (ASF) in the region, the ramped-up efforts to introduce upstart entrepreneurs to private investors and to the public market, and concerns on the amendment of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) Law in order to make use of renewable energy to lower the prices of electricity, among others.

The attendees in the situation briefing comprised of Region VI Directors from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
