As rehabilitation efforts and disaster response continue in full swing in Northern Luzon, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reiterated the Administration’s commitment in catering to the needs of victims from the onslaught of Super Typhoon ‘Egay’ in the Ilocos Region.
In a situation briefing with local government officials and concerned government agencies in Region I, the President stressed that the national government remains on top of recovery efforts for those affected by the recent calamity.
According to latest reports from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 1, Super Typhoon ‘Egay’ affected over 600,000 individuals in the region. The DSWD has provided family food packs (FFP) and non-food items (NFI) worth PhP24 million and PhP61 million, respectively.
President Marcos Jr. ordered all concerned agencies to adopt a whole-of-government approach to fast-track the recovery of Filipinos displaced by the typhoon, ensuring their needs are continuously met.
Prior to the briefing, the Chief Executive distributed various government assistance to the victims of Super Typhoon ‘Egay’. These included assistance from DSWD, Department of Agriculture (DA), National Housing Authority (NHA), as well as cash assistance from the Office of the President (OP) to all the provincial governments in the Ilocos Region.
