Situated in downtown Doha, the spiral shaped mosque of Kassem Darwish Fakhroo Islamic Center was formed in the likeness of the Great Mosque of Al-Mutawwakil, after the Samarra of Iraq was damaged in 2005.

Throughout the years, the mosque has become one of Doha’s most famous attractions. At night, tourists enjoy an array of colors and elegance when the lights mounted on the spiral minaret are switched on.
