President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN) Annual Station Managers Conference with a dialogue from its provincial radio reporters nationwide, and discussed issues varying from local to national concerns.
Eight different questions were directed to the President focusing on the state of national security, investment opportunities in the locality, nationwide anti-corruption and transparency campaign, disaster risk reduction and mitigation projects for typhoon-prone areas and on creating a sustainable peace agreement with the country’s armed rebel groups.
During the opening remarks, the President underscored the importance in holding similar events with members of the media to bolster democracy in the country.
“Maliwanag din po sa akin ang halaga ng pagtitipong ito: sa pagtatalakay natin sa mga napapanahong usapin ng bansa, lalo nating napapatingkad ang diwa ng ating demokrasya. Sama-sama nating naihahayag ang mga tagumpay ng Pilipino; kolektibo nating nailalatag at nahahanapan ng tugon ang mga suliranin ng bansa,” he said.
Also present during the dialogue were 2013 aspiring senatorial candidates Senator Francis Escudero, Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, Representative Juan Edgardo Angara, former Senator Jamby Madrigal, former Senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr., former Representative Risa Hontiveros, former Representative Cynthia Villar, former Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Grace Poe-Llamanzares andformer Chairperson of the National Youth Commission of the Philippines Paolo Benigno Aquino IV.
