President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed his full support to Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go as he accompanied his longtime former aide in the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president at the Garden Tent in Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, Pasay City.

Senator Go is running for vice president under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in the May 2022 national elections.

In a short message, President Duterte wished Senator Go the best of luck in his quest for the vice presidency.

The Chief Executive also announced his retirement from politics after he steps down as President on June 30, 2022.

“And so, in obedience to the will of the people, who after all, placed me in the Presidency many years ago, I now say sa mga kababayan ko, sundin ko ang gusto ninyo. And today, I announce my retirement from politics. Salamat po sa inyong lahat,” he stated.
