“This vision is not merely a product of government policy but a call to action for both officials and ordinary citizens. It challenges us to take action in our everyday lives to elevate the way Filipinos present ourselves to the world,” Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Assistant Secretary for Digital Media and Communication Patricia Martin emphasizes as she presents the vision of the Administration’s ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ towards a more inclusive and progressive nation for the benefit of all Filipinos.

Following the opening of the Philippine Country Pavilion at the 2023 Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), Asec. Martin highlights ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ as an invitation for Filipinos worldwide to view the country from a fresh perspective anchored in transformation across various sectors.

“Bagong Pilipinas seeks to transform our idea of being a Filipino, our economy, governance and society. It guides us toward progress, inclusivity and pride in being a Filipino. To fully grasp the essence of Bagong Pilipinas, we need to understand that it starts with a change in our mindset,” she conveys.

“As we proudly showcase the vision of Bagong Pilipinas here at the Singapore FinTech Festival, it is imperative to underscore the transformative influence of digitalization and financial technology on our journey towards a future-ready Philippines,” Asec. Martin adds.

Moreover, the PCO Assistant Secretary urges Filipinos to consider ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ as more than just a slogan but a perspective on the endless potentials a nation can achieve through resilience and positivity.

“As we integrate digitalization into our national narrative, we can build a future-ready Philippines that stands as a testament to the transformative power of unity, innovation and a renewed sense of identity,” she concludes.

Asec. Martin leads the Philippine delegation to the 2023 SFF, where 500 exhibitors from 134 countries gather at the Singapore Expo to discuss the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in the field of financial technology.
