President Benigno S. Aquino III received H. E. Giller Garachon of France and H. E. VP Hirubalan of Singapore as the newly-designated ambassadors to the Philippines during the presentation of credentials in Malacañang.
Ambassador Garachon arrived in the Philippines on February 2012 from his prior assignment in French Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the head of its Human Resources Department. His past work experiences include his service in the African and Madagascar Affairs, as consul of France in Hong Kong, and as an ambassador in the embassies of France in Bangkok, Jakarta and New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Hirubalan was posted by the Republic of Singapore to the Philippines on March 12, 2012. His former assignment was in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also served as the Director in the ASEAN Directorate in the Southeast Asia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Counselor in the Embassy of Jakarta, High Commissioner to Negara Brunei Darussalam, and Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman.
Both envoys were joined by their Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Hugues-Antoine Suin (France) and Ms. Teo Swee Choo Daphne (Singapore).
