President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received the credentials of His Excellency Agus Widjojo, resident Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines of the Republic of Indonesia, in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace.

The Ambassador recognized the vital partnership of the two countries spanning seven (7) decades since 1949. He also acknowledged new opportunities that Indonesia-Philippines bilateral relations could further explore under the ‘Build, Build, Build’ Infrastructure Program of the Administration.

President Duterte acknowledged the robust partnership between Philippines-Indonesia bilateral ties despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.

“The Philippines look[s] forward to a more bilateral engagements with Indonesia as we advance our shared interest in the promotion of security in our region and work towards full post-pandemic recovery,” the Chief Executive said.
