President Benigno S. Aquino III accepted the credentials of His Excellency Asif Anwar Ahmad as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Philippines.

He began his career in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Resource and Budgeting Department in 1999. From there, he moved to the Senior Civil Service and served as the Head of the Commonwealth Department. In 2003, he also worked as Head of the Communication and Information Centre at the Prime Minister’s Office.
