President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received the credentials of His Excellency Santiago Javier Chavez Pareja, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Philippines, in a ceremony at Malacañan Palace.

In his message, the Ambassador-Designate expressed his unwavering commitment of forging more deeper and fruitful relations between the Philippines and Ecuador, anchored in mutual understanding based on shared values of the two countries.

For his part, President Marcos Jr. affirmed the more than seven decades of relations between the Philippines and Ecuador, and conveyed his willingness to explore and strengthen more areas of cooperation for the benefit of the nations’ peoples.

Prior to his assignment in the country, Ambassador Chavez held diplomatic postings in various countries including Singapore, Indonesia and Timor Leste, among others.
