The National Youth Commission (NYC) convened the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) youth representatives for a preparatory meeting for the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with the Youth, which will be held on April 29, 2017.

During the meeting, NYC Chair Cariza “Aiza” Seguerra said that the draft of the ASEAN Youth Development Index (AYDI), which was proposed by Philippines through the NYC and supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is now going the rounds of the ASEAN Member States for further inputs.

AYDI will allow the citizens to have a better perspective of the ASEAN youth’s aspirations on different aspects of their lives. It will pave way on the creation of programs and projects bolstering youth development.

“In our discussion today, let us keep in mind that the statement we will convey to our leaders will also carry with it our sustained passion to prepare the best future for this generation of ASEAN youth,” Seguerra added.
