President Benigno S. Aquino III expressed his heartfelt gratitude to different private agencies that were honored during the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Outstanding Agency Awards led by the Chief Executive himself.

The President commended the awardees for their programs that ensure the safety and welfare of Filipinos working overseas for they are the frontliners in establishing new opportunities for OFWs. “Umaasa akong lalo pang titibay ang inyong pagiging lingkod-bayan, lalo pa kayong magtutulungan para maabot ang ating mga kolektibong pangarap,” he added.

With the theme, “Achieving Excellence through Ethical Recruitment in the Service of Overseas Filipino Workers,” POEA recognized 18 manning and recruitment agencies for their consistent excellent performance in deploying Filipino workers for overseas employment.

Four of these were given the Top Performer award, nine were conferred the Award of Excellence and five were awarded the Presidential Award of Excellence, the highest honor bestowed upon an agency that has been a recipient of the Award of Excellence for at least five times. These agencies are Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Co. of Manila, Inc., EDI Staffbuilders International, Inc. and International Skill Development, Inc. from the land based sector. From the sea based sector, the agencies that received the Presidential Award of Excellence are Anglo-Eastern Crew Management Philippines Inc. and United Philippine Lines, Inc.
