President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces, during a phone call at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace.

During the phone conversation, President Duterte expressed his appreciation to the leadership of His Highness the Crown Prince, especially in lending assistance to the COVID-19 response of the Philippines by providing seven (7) metric tons of equipment and 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered to areas in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

In response, His Highness the Crown Prince reassured the Chief Executive on the safety of 600,000 overseas Filipinos currently working in the UAE and expressed his gratitude for their contributions that lead to the betterment of his country.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr., Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs (PAFA) Undersecretary Robert E.A. Borje, and other key officials from the DFA joined President Duterte in the event.
