Participation at the Special US-ASEAN Summit and
Working Visit to Los Angeles, California, USA
February 15-17, 2016
Upon the invitation of US President Barack Obama, President Benigno S. Aquino III participates at the Special US-ASEAN Summit being held at the City of Rancho Mirage in California, United States of America (USA) together with other Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders to discuss issues surrounding the ASEAN region and its partnership with USA.
President Obama raised the idea of hosting the meeting during the US-ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 2015, wherein he and the ASEAN leaders announced the advancement of the US-ASEAN relations to a strategic partnership.
In his third trip to USA, President Aquino will meet with key business personalities in Los Angeles City to further enhance business trade between the Philippines and USA. He will also meet with various organizations and will hold a meeting with the Filipino community in LA.
