UN Headquarters, New York
September 20, 2022

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. participated at the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held at the UN Headquarters in New York on September 20, 2022.

The UNGA is the main policymaking body of the UN. Comprising all 193 Member States, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion on international concerns covered by the United Nations Charter.

During the UNGA’s High-Level General Debate — an opportunity where heads of states and governments come together to discuss world issues — the President articulated the Philippines’ vision for the UN and its positions on a wide range of issues including economic recovery, food security, agricultural productivity, climate change and other matters that are of key importance to the country.

This was the Chief Executive’s first national statement before the UN Member States since he assumed the Presidency.
