The Orchard Road is a 2.2-km boulevard lined on both sides with upscale fashion stores, shopping malls, restaurants and hotels. The shopping belt that stretches from Delphi Orchard up until Orchard Central has over 5,000 retail, dining and entertainment establishments, making it a premiere destination for residents and tourists to experience the Lion City lifestyle.
Also called the “Great Street”, its main attractions are located mostly around the areas of the Ion Orchard, Takashimaya, TANGS and Paragon.
The beautifully landscaped Orchard Road was named after the fruit orchards, nutmeg plantations, and pepper farms that grew there in the early 1830s before it was transformed and made way for commercial and residential development.
