Ministers of 21 Asia-Pacific countries witnessed the opening ceremony of the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting held at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing, China.

Several topics are set to be discussed in the two-day ministerial meeting. These include initiatives on how to boost regional integration between member economies and China’s newly submitted roadmap towards massive Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP). Stalled talks on the existing US-led Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade pact which involves 12 member economies are said to be discussed in the sidelines of the meeting.

China holds this year’s APEC chairmanship with the theme: “Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership”. Leaders of 21 member economies will convene for the APEC CEO Summit starting 9-11 November.
