President Benigno S. Aquino III joined the members and delegates of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) for the opening of their 29th Biennial Convention with the theme “Tuwid na Daan towards Peace, Unity and Prosperity” held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

In his speech, the President thanked the FFCCCII for all their assistance to the victims of calamities, as well as for their medical missions, scholarship grants and building of classrooms.  “We are all for your success. You pave the way for the success of others. The Filipinos or your fellow Filipinos that you employ are empowered to earn decent livelihoods and make life better for themselves, their families, and the greater society as a whole.  I believe that the success of any business can only be truly sustainable when it is free from unnecessary, avoidable risks and threats — when it takes place only because of your hard work, creativity, and ability to adapt to the needs of your consumers,” President Aquino said.

He also appealed to the FFCCCII members to fulfill their civic duties of paying the right amount of taxes before April 15 of this year.

During the event, President Aquino witnessed the presentation of a Plaque of Recognition to outgoing FFCCCII President Tan Ching by Dr. Lucio Tan.

FFCCCII is one of the largest organization of Filipino-Chinese businessmen created with a mission to unite the Chinese-Filipino community, promote growth of businesses, and implement social welfare projects for the nation’s development and progress
