Official Working Visit to Paris, France

A three-day official visit to Paris, France is next for President Benigno S. Aquino III after his trip to Madrid, Spain, the European Union and Brussels, Belgium.

His bilateral meetings with French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Manuel Valls to talk on ways to increase cooperation and continue to strengthen the friendship of both countries were among the highlights of his stay in France.

Both leaders witnessed the signing of agreements on areas like education, defense, transportation, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

The Chief Executive led the formal opening of the Philippine Business Opportunities Forum organized by the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) International and the Department of Trade and Industry.

He is also delivered a policy speech organized by the French Institute for International Relations or the Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI).

This is the first visit of President Aquino to France since he became President and also the first visit of a Philippine head of State to France since 1994.
